United Way
A Significant Partnership Spanning the Commonwealth
UGI’s partnership with United Way spans the Commonwealth and represents a significant commitment on the part of both UGI and its employees.
UGI employees freely give both their time and resources to this national system of volunteers, contributors and local charities helping people in their own communities.
During this year’s Employee Giving Campaign, pledges to United Way organizations in our service area consisted of $334,747 from UGI Employees and $10,765 from UGI Retirees – totaling $345,512.
As a further commitment, UGI employees also participate in United Way Day of Caring activities across the service area.
For example, in 2023, UGI employees:
- organized diapers for families in need at the Healthy Steps Diaper Bank in Mechanicsburg
- deep cleaned the Reading Area Firefighters Museum
- completed outdoor projects for senior citizens in Huntingdon County
- constructed a fence and assisted with cleaning projects in Lewistown
- completed painting projects at St. Joseph’s Center and Lackawanna Blind Association in Scranton
- installed smoke alarms and shared fire safety information to residents of Easton
- prepared the Pocono Family YMCA for a major renovation by cleaning out and organizing the building
- deep cleaned the wellness floor at the YMCA of the Roses – Lampeter Strasburg
- moved furniture at Child Development Council Day Care in Wilkes Barre
- performed outdoor clean-up work at the Wyoming Valley Children’s Association in Forty Fort
- raked leaves, mowed grass, and performed other grounds maintenance at the Forty Fort Cemetery
- participated in clean-up and beautification efforts at Kingston Active Adult Center
- performed grounds maintenance and planted trees at Patriots Cove in Noxen
- hung flower brackets and assisted with clean-up in downtown Bedford
- painted Avenues Foundation in Pottsville
- performed mulching and outdoor work at Catholic Social Services in Hazleton
- supported a spring clean-up at the Salvation Army of Lebanon
