UGI Serves Niagara Bottling’s New Luzerne County Plant

UGI Utilities has run natural gas service to the new Niagara Bottling plant, currently under construction and expected to begin production in the spring of 2022. The facility is located at the Humboldt Industrial Park in Hazle Township, just west of the City of Hazleton. This will be the fifth Niagara plant in Pennsylvania and will bring a significant number of well-paying jobs to the area. The 1.2 million-square-foot building is the latest addition for Diamond Bar, California-based Niagara Bottling, LLC. UGI ran 1,200 feet of new gas main, the customer service, a new 6” Sensus Turbo with dual run configuration, and upstream system reinforcements to serve Niagara’s needs. “UGI and Niagara worked closely together to ensure that the facility would have the natural gas needed for present operations and also allow for future growth,” Joe Bauman, UGI relationship manager – major accounts, said.
